Now loosen the screws holding the lever to the shaft. Rotate it until it's in the "low" position.
Turn the detent plate until the holes line up with the holes in the gear housing. Secure in place with the two remaining cap head screws.
Lubricate the gear teeth and shaft of the hi-low shift crank with super lube or something similar. Insert into the casing.

Attach the handle to the hi-low shift crank using the two socket head screws as shown.
Insert the Hi-low shift crank shaft through the detent plate.
