Sometimes (at least for me) the best part of buying an old piece of machinery is the extra goodies the person throws in. In this case most of it came in an old Kennedy tool box which in it's self was a great surprise. In the box I found 0-1" mic, 6" steel pocket rule with sheath, several large index-able carbide tool holders of various configurations along with many brand new carbide inserts, Lots of carbide tipped lathe tools, lots of hss lathe tools 1/4" to 1/2", a couple "whatizits" ,indicator and holder, and much more

Okay, you asked for it! You suck!

Charley, that's a very nice find and just think, those tools helped build the America of yester-year, which sadly is evaporating faster everyday and many of the skills possessed by persons whom held those very tools when new will be/are already long forgotten!

November X-ray,

You are right. One thing that Charley did not mention in his post was the name label on the tool box.

We spoke about this earlier and I told him he should leave it on the box. It is an important piece of that history and should not be forgotten. I think one of the neat things about this hobby is thinking about the history of the tools and books that we newbies collect to learn from every time we use them.

Nostalgia gotta love it. A lot of the stuff from that box went straight to my boxes like reamers, center drills, lathe tools and on and on. I went and drooled on it some this evening cause I won't have much time for a couple weeks, gotta work Sat and Sun at the real job

Charley! I have to agree with Benny, You SUCK! Great find, don't know what all of it is though... You said when you buy another piece of old iron, what did all these pieces accompany???

I agree with leaving the name. When I buy used tools with someone's name engraved, I leave their name, and add mine. A little history on the tool.

Nice score Charley, that stuff will clean up very nicely.
