As usual when one thing gets fixed another thing appears..

When using the Myford milling attachment that fixes to my T slotted cross slide, not on the compound, I found the carriage traverse wheel too clunky for really fine tuning using the dial indicator.

I've seen them used before so I made a hand wheel for the lead screw, with the half-nuts engaged it does a much better job.

Just a bit of stainless, drilled and tapped, ally wheel shrunk on with a dab of Locktite

The grip grooves where cut using the indexing holes on the bull gear and a spare worn out compound with the lead screw removed,
just pushed by hand, practice with a wood plane came in handy here...:biggrin:

Jam nut holds it OK..
