First I’m a beginner metalworker. I thought I would make a daisy wheel for a little Atlas arbor press as it doesn’t have one. This is my second project with a rotary table. I surfaced the disc with a fly cutter to remove some deep pitting. I also milled around the outside to reduce diameter. Drilled my holes and then milled the slots.

How do your pros clamp projects such as this one on the rotary table?

This was my first time grinding a fly cutter bit for steel use. I think there is a lot of room for improvement.

Tell me what I did wrong.

Overall I’m happy with the wheel but see a lot of room for improvement.

Nice job. I never had to clamp a part on a rotary table. I am sure if one had a project with many parts needing pressing you could drill and tap clamping holes. Also clamping holes could be used to lock the table in one position.
