What machinist toys I want for Christmas...

Some time to spend in my shop would be nice....

Corm

I second those thoughts. But you have to keep mama happy too with time spent working around the house. I keep hoping.....

I've had so much this year, I'm grateful for what I've got. But if there's a Santa, I would like insulation and heating done for the garage workshop.

The list of tools/machines I want is endless, but at the top of it is a mill, any mill. But none of those things are coming. I would be happy just to have time to use the stuff I've already got, and as it turns out, this coming semester I WILL have time to get some work done (barring the inevitable unforseen time gremlins that always spring up right when you don't want them to).

Well, my wife got me the welding helmet I wanted... Hmmm. I'd like a DRO setup for my mill.

But most of all, I'd love a clean up crew!

Santa (me) found a Wohlhaupter UPA3 boring/facing head on Ebay. It was complete with tooling, and except for some of the toolbits having been ground and used, looked new in all aspects. It was extremely well cared for. I was the only bid @$500 plus shipping. For $530 I have a $1500 to $2000 boring head set.

Fantastic boring/facing head. I picked one up some months ago and it's been great. In case you need it, here is a copy of the manual for it that I found on the web: http://www.arcraneiron.com/machines/Wohlhauptermanual.pdf It's not very clean but it's usable. The download is just over 16Mb and it resides on my server so I know it's virus free.

Hope that helps,
