Hi Everyone,

I am wondering if someone will explain to me how material, or a part is supposed to be held/clamped to one of the angle blocks, or if it is used to place a part into a vise then removed. I'm kinda confused on this.

Thanks for the help!

I've seen angle plates used on surface plates to hold work against when scribing with a height gage.
I know they have a few other uses.

I used my angle block just the outher day on my mill. Had a l bracket that needed slots and wasto tall for the vise. Clamped the angle block upside down in my vise and clamped the part to it. Here is the part.

You can use parallel clamps, “C” clamps or if it doesn’t bother you to do so, you can put threaded holes in it for holding things…Good Luck, Dave.

Here is what Kory is asking about. I've never seen one of these>

Oh,I have one of those. You just HAVE got to get one!!! Why,I don't know,as I have never used mine, but it is cool.

I guess I just don't understand what this is used for... I'll pass on it.

I have one & I use it every so often. They come in a few different sizes. It has a vernier on it & is pretty accurate, well for at least what I use it for. I can't say what the "correct" way to use them is but when I use mine it stays in the vise with the part. Part being clamped in the vise has to be wider than the block, if I run into a situation where that's not the case, I just use some scrap for a spacer.

I milled the two corners & chamfered all the edges using it.

Here you can see the angle block.

Used it here on this bracket where I needed to mill off 1° on one side.
