Hey all,

I'm thinking of tackling the project of remaking the crossfeed screw for my 10" Rockwell. I already have the precision threaded rod and it will be easy enough to turn down the end that fits into the taper attachment.

The issue that so far has me stumped is the dial side. This is a 2 part screw and the threaded feed section has external splines that I will need to duplicate. I'm guessing, but the dimensions are almost spot on that the splines are involute 48P and 16 teeth, but the pressure angle is unknown.

A 48P 16t 20PA pinion gear from an RC car fits correctly into the inside splines but that doesn't mean it's actually correct I guess.

If anyone knows this info or can look at the photo of the splines I've got it would be helpful.

There is an NOS one on ebay, for the price, you can buy 10 for what it will cost you to make one. Tim

Thanks!

For what it's worth to anyone, I modeled a 48DP 16T 20PA spline & a 48DP 16T 14.5PA spline in Solidworks and had them 3D printed in high detail nylon.

The 48DP 16T 14.5PA spline is an exact fit, so that answers that question.
