Finally got a metal cutting band saw!

Jim,

Congratulations on the purchase; you won't be sorry.
Ken in addition to HF and Northern Tool, don't forget Enco. Every so often Enco will run them on sale with free truck shipping. These band saws make life in the shop so much easier. BTW the Enco saw was badged with MSC. If your in the market and see it on sale w/free shipping; I don't think you'll get a better saw for the money.

Just looked at the ECO one, It says it is supposed to handle a little bigger stock, but is a little bit more expensive, Will take a look at ti again when get a good discount and free shipping. Any idea about their blades. I have heard to stay away from the HF ones.

I looked on the Enco site and saw the asking price, it sure has gone up over the years. I checked my invoice, it was on sale plus an additional 15% off and free truck shipping made the total $186.15.
The Irwin bi-metal blades seem to do a good job for me, with (knock wood) long life. A friend bought some HF band saw blades, he was not a happy camper.

It's almost over for March. Enco has 20% off and free "ground shipping" 20% off and free ground shipping. Use codes: 20MARVIP and MARSHIP Offer ends 03/31/15. With 20% off the bandsaw will be $228 +tax if applicable.
I don't think this code will help with the shipping, on the other hand call and see if you can talk someone into it ;). Several of the large internet suppliers will let you pick up at their will-call window and not charge for shipping. For example McMaster-Carr, Enco/MSC has locations in the Atlanta area. You might be able to save on shipping if you can pick it up.
