Does anyone know what scales an old ('95 maybe?) Acu-Rite MillMate DRO uses? My newsed Atrump K4V has an X scale that is fubar'ed, but I don't know if it is going to have to be replaced or if it can be repaired. I tried one of the scales from the DroPro's DRO on my lathe, but the readout just shows 0.0000 and indicates no movement. The original scale kept popping an E3 code (weak output), and I stupidly assumed that it was just dirty when I bought the machine because the outside scale housing was nasty with old oil residue. After getting the machine set in place and levelled, I messed with it a bit and it would show movement after being cleared, but after just a few thou, it would pop the E3 again. I pulled the scale and cleaned it, but the reader head didn't look right (looks like it's been messed with before), and after reassembly, now it just reads 0.0000, so I may have jacked something up worse.
I've seen some so-called replacement scales that claim they will work , but I think they are for a newer display.

There present scaleswork with most of there older units just need the right addapter.

I'm hoping the existing scale can be salvaged, it really irks me to pay more for a scale for a 20 yr. old DRO than what it would cost to get a brand new DRO, with both scales, that has a three year warranty! Of course I'm a cheap SOB, but I hate cutting into my lunch and beer money...:)

I want to second this in spades. They are amazing. I've stayed with their product despite other companies having lower prices because they have saved my bacon. The price is soon forgot, quality and service is long rememberred.
