Looking For Milling Machine

That would be just the size I want and a good price.
It's about 12 hours and 750 miles away though. That's how it goes. I don't think I can talk the wife into going that direction for a vacation.
Thanks for the link Anthony.

Make it a weekend trip for yourself. Leave at 4:00AM. Get there late afternoon. Start heading back. Bunk down for the night. Finish the trip home the next day. Better yet, take a buddy and drive it straight through. One drives there while the other sleeps. On the way back the one sleeping on the way up there does the driving while the other one sleeps. Nice road trip.

That would be a good plan but we already booked a Weekend at Branson, Mo.
I'll be picking up a new Mill from Grizzly when we go thru Springfield.
Just need to decide which one to get now.

Vince,
That Bridgeport was a total POS. It still sold for $1100.
The ways looked like someone took an Angle grinder to them.
The quill was loose.
Pieces were missing and would cost to much to buy.

Sorry about that. It was hard to tell from the photos.

Vince

Not your fault Vince.
I learned a long time ago to not entirely trust pictures since they usually only show the good side of things.
Good thing I went and looked at it. They had a lot of old machinery they were selling but most of it was just a step above scrap.
It would take to much time and money to put most of it back in working shape. I believe some was salvageable for parts, then scrap the rest.
What got me was the prices some of it still brought. I bet it was someone not knowing what they were actually buying.

Looks like I'll be heading down to Springfield, Mo. Friday morning to pick up a new Mill.
Nothing showed up so far around here for the past couple of months worth buying, when there was. they wanted a new price for one needing too much work to make it useable.
Now I just need to decide which one.
The choices are between the G0758 or G0704.

My brother bought a mill from Grizzy there in Springfield about 12 years ago. I don't recall the model no., but is equivalent to a Series I Bridgeport mill. It has served him well over the years without any problems.

Roadie33,
There's a Bridgeport up for auction a few hours from you on Saturday. I have no stake in it and know nothing about the machine, I just happened across it. I'll PM you the details.

Leaving in the morning for Springfield, Mo to check out which Mill I want to purchase @ Grizzly.
By Sunday I should be back home getting it uncrated and setup.
Depends on which model I get whether I'll get some extra goodies.
Definitely getting some R8 Collets and Vise.
I'll be sure to take some pics when I get it home.
