I recently acquired a 20" Sidney lathe, it needs help but I can't find much info on this particular lathe or much about Sidney lathes in general especially this model. I am new to machining as well and would love to get to old machine up and running. Any info at all will help.

Thanks,

That is an older Sidney lathe that probably does not have herringbone gearing. Not by any means a deal breaker.
As for a service manual or parts manual, there are none that I'm aware of on Sidney lathes. You might look on the "Vintage Machinery" website for any catalog reprints and also Tony-lathes over in the UK also. As far as I been able to find out, the company is not in business anymore. Nor has it been bought out be any of the other companies out there. There are people out there that have these old lathes in their shops.

There are only a few of us with Sidneys.
Your is newer than mine.Clean the ways on the tail stock end and you should find some serial numbers.

Mine is pre 1930.
Tony in the UK has some manuals I'll dig up his site info and post it for you.

Thank you for looking into it.

I will look again to be sure, but I think the number on the tag was 5907.
