Slitting/slotting Saws What Brand/retailer?

do you not have a band saw? i don't think it would be an issue to do that, be safe about it, when that piece is finished cutting its gonna fling a little bit, try and setup and take the cut so that it doesn't fling into something causing damage or more importantly harm to yourself or others. i wouldn't expect it to fly across the room but certainly its possible it would fly off the table

I have a Jet 4x6, that I always use as a horizontal. I've never tried it as a vertical. I have a table, but it isn't as nice as the 14" slow speed uprights that you guys have.

I was watching this video by Tom Lipton, and I'm unclear about his comments about relive and depth of cut.

How can i tell by looking at a blade if it can't cut any deeper than the length of the teeth, and what can be buried all the way up to the arbor. In his vide some of them look exactly the same.

based on his comments, this saw doesn't look like it could cut very deep as it doesn't look reviled though the add says it is.

I agree with Chevydyl - use your Jet saw to rough out the blank, then mill it to final size.

Can these saws be used on smaller mills like mine (Pm 932)? I only saw guys using these on larger industrial machines so far (at work) .

You certainly can. I have an RF-30 mill drill that I ran a 3/16" x 5" side milling cutter on making a 1-5/8" deep cut. A PM-932 has more beef than a RF-30 for sure.

I agree. I've buried saws to the arbor without any issues, including thin jeweler's saws. I've even stacked saws to make a groove wider than a single saw blade will cut. For blades with no set, the tip of the teeth will be the widest point and it will get thinner toward the center so they can cut all the way up to the arbor.
