I recently found an old no. 12. It's in really good shape but the auto feed table stop is broken. Any thoughts on finding an unbroken replacement or repairing this one?
Related, the 1/4 hp table feed motor does not appear to have any way to grease the bearings. What am I missing here? Thanks, Greg. image.jpeg

Greg, do you have the missing piece ? A cast iron welding shop should be able to put it weld it back together again good as new. Not many of those guys around, but a few still do exist.

Hi Glenn. No ,unfortunately I don't have the missing part. I was hoping there might be a " parts mill" out there somewhere. Probably not too likely. Thanks.

It appears that the only missing piece is the other half of that cylinder. If thats the case, I would think that it would be
easy to machine a new cylinder, mill the old half out and braze in the new one. Good luck in replacing or fixing it.

Yup make your spacer then mill out the old one grind some fillets and braze it in it'll last two more lifetimes.

i have a model 12 that has had a similar break in the table stop. it has been brazed and it has held up well. the stop itself doesn't look like it would be difficult to make. i would design a longer manual handle in the process the original is really small and hard to grab. these are good solid machines good luck with yours.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm trying to decide whether to repair the part or make a new one with the modifications that you have recommended.
