I just finished watching the 4 videos by forum member Dan_S, titled "bench grinder set up". Very well done videos, Dan. So here is my question. I'm pretty sure Dan is using a 932M mill, but I noticed at several spots that he hits the head up or down button, and then uses both hands to do something else while the head is still moving. On my new 932M-PDF mill, the buttons for head up or down are spring loaded and go back to off if I don't keep my finger pressure on them. I can see that this might a safety thing, but it would be a handy feature, when moving the head a long ways, as it moves quite slow. Anyone got any info on this? Thanks, JR49

Thanks for the compliment Jr49.

My mill is a 940, it has a 3 position switch for the head up/down. The middle is off, left is up, and right is down. You can see the switch in the bottom left hand corner of the control box. I pulled this photo form the machine tool online website that shows it.

Well, that solves that mystery. I was kind of hopping that you had done some sexy modification to a 932 that I could copy. But hey, all I really need to do is swap the buttons for a 3 position switch. Will have to think about that. Anyway, thanks for the quick response, and keep the great videos coming. Happy machining, JR49

personally, I just with it was faster, maybe 2 to 4 times faster, or had a rapid button or something.
