Ok....

So I'm looking for advice on a Knurling tool.

I don't want one that will put excess pressure on the bearing of my machine.

I will be using it to knurl anything from 3/8 to 2" aluminum .

I have a Grizzly G4003G 12x36

so what does everyone seem to like??

How about a scissor type knurl ? You could make one very easily .

Or the one that Tom Griffin has on his site.

+1 on the scissors type knurler. I got mine from Enco for not much. I had to modify it slightly, and now it works very well. Lots of plans on the Web, if you want to make your own.

If I have a choice I'd go with a cut knurler. Unfortunately I can't afford one nor do I have the time to make one so my next choice is a clamp type knurler. They work great and put nearly zero load on your spindle. You can buy one or make one. If you choose to make one there is an abundance of information on this site and the web that will help you through the build.

a standard type knurler will be fine on your lathe. I did a lot of knurling on my 10" Jet years ago. No problem.

I had zero problems with bump knurl on 12x lathe.

The spindle bearings are typically 35 mm ID.
7207AC == 19 kN = 1900 kgf push force on static loads, and == 29 kN or 2900 kgf dynamic.

Could you lift a 2900 kg truck with your hand on the compound ?
