How To Get Accurate Milling- Vn16 Bad Collets-what To Do?

Wells Index converted my Van Norman 16 mill spindle with the VN "C" taper; to an R8 taper. It cost a lot more than $200. But at least now I can get a whole new world of tooling--I'll be selling the VN C tooling I've acquired.

I may be in a minority with a Van Norman mill with a Bridgeport taper-

I just got the spindle head back today and will put it on the mill tomorrow and check the runout--it better be good!!
Thanks to everyone for all the help-- I'm sure I'll be back with more questions!!

I would be interested in what it cost you as I am considering having my 16S reground to 30 taper.

$650 plus shipping--
Good thing I only paid $600 for the whole mill!
-Like I said-- it better be good!

FYI:
I checked the spindle runout of my new Wells Index R8 taper on my VN 16 mill today: .0002"
I checked this both static: turning the spindle by hand, and running the mill at 90 rpm-- it was .0002" either way.
I don't have any R8 tooling yet-- so I can't check the runout beyond the spindle lower taper area.
I won't be checking it under load--don't know how.

I'm selling a bunch of VN C taper tooling-- but I haven't figured out how to list the items for sale on this forum-- can someone help me here?

Thanks to everyone for all your help with this- it's been a fun journey and I'm only getting started!

Easiest would be to take pictures, post with descriptions, and a price. You can use the upload a file button next to the post a reply button.

Thanks, Jason-- I just couldn't find where to do that, but Daryl pointed me at the right forums-
