PM25 pretty nice so far EXCEPT that shield hits vice and anything else when you try to lower the head rather than the spindle. Even lowering spindle all the way isn't enough for some things in vice.

So, how do most deal with this as there is an interlock switch for the motor? I could simply remove the shield & rod and jumper the switch leads.
But, is there something better?

Thanks,
Regis

I took the shield off of my PM-30 and just left the switch engaged. Jumpering the wires sounds like a good solution.

I took the shield and shaft off of mine, threw them away, and soldered the switch leads together. :)

I did the same thing on my PM-25MV.

If I remember correctly, the interlock switch is normally closed, so no jumpering was needed: just pull out the shield and shaft assembly.

As was said, not jumper was necessary, just remove shield & rod
Thanks all,
Regis
