VN Vn 16s Rebuild

It was a complete strip and clean. There was a ton of crap in the gear boxes, scrapped them out. The one shot system was completely plugged, so that was cleaned up. I replaced all the oil seals and gaskets too. I still need to replace the PF pulleys and belt, as well as the main drive belt. I may need to replace the power switches, but I'm not sure yet. I also stoned the ways, but it should be scraped, but it's good enough for me.

Your doing a great job by the pics. The only thing that's left is adjust the backlash and gibs I guess unless the switch is bad. Hope it runs great and makes tons more chips in its lifetime. Nice to have things live long after were gone. Thanks for sharing

Pretty much done. The spindle motor had a tough time getting going, smoked real bad, and was only running about half speed. Eventually it speed up and seems OK now. Probably hasn't run in a long time.

I did max out the Y GiB, there is wear, but it's pretty consistent through the full movement of the saddle. I am not going to do anymore with it at this time.

She looks great, wish I could get the one near me , he wants $500 , not a bad deal . But I'm unable to go get it and to pay it would triple that for delivery. You can add a shim to your gibs if you need too. They really are work horses , and built right . I can dream .

No, I haven't used it yet. It's now in its temporary spot till late next year.
