I'm looking for a bench top shaper near Franklin,NC . Make is not important as it is in good working condition. I am not a collector but a user. Thanks. John
Its worth driving some distance if you find a good one. Finding one locally is great, but the chances are slimmer. I drove about 8 hours each way to get mine, but it was well worth it.
I drove 4 hrs each way to get mine...Atlas 7b.
Worth every bit of the $75 I paid for it.
I found mine by asking the machine tool resellers in the areas I was willing to drive too. for another $75 I picked up a little atlas horizontal mill as well....both were mounted on a 8ftx2ftx5/8" plate topped shop made table.
Have seen several on Craigslist over the yrs and see southbend and atlas shapers on ebay regularly.
Good luck....and good hunting....I wish mine was a bigger shaper....but alas when I tried to bring home a 36" Cincinnati my dear wife said ..."oh no you dont"
