Uh....I can't find it. but here's a router bit box I made at the same time. The two router bits I made before 1976, to make the slats for a roll top desk.

A friend suggested he needed a way to put reeding on the edge of a cabinet he was making, I'm making a bit now (Pix when its done) for that.
I was working in a boat plant, had lots of scraps of teak and mahogany. Here's one, http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/197...Fort-Lauderdale/FL/United-States#.WIAbExsrKCo

I built the wood colored parts above the deck. Deckhouse and pilot house. On this boat.

Would the CO2 boiling in the acetone put out the fire??? I think some experimentation is in order.....

This reminds me of my experience @ age 12. Mr Wizzard of TV fame showed burning steel wool in oxygen. Since my Dad had an oxyacetylene torch I decided to repeat the experiment. I wondered what it would look like if I added some acetylene to the mix. I didn't have time to see the results but I decided not to try it again ! Six months later a pumpkin seed size chunk of vinegar bottle was surgically removed from my right hand.

Got some scrap PVC "tees" from a guy at work...being the packrat I am, I took them and said I'd find a use for them.
Support for my barrel...will let me apply bluing solution without having to worry about support. Parts in the tray below the barrel were just finished.

That's a gorgeous boat Tom, very nice work you did on her. Mike

Made some brass wheels. They will have bearing inserted and be used to made an arrow spinner for a friend.
Considering it was just some scrap brass/bronze pieces he brought round (valve bodies, a couple of failed regulators, etc) and we melted down into a bar last weekend I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

Thanks to the generosity of Scruffy and his Christmas Give-away, I now have a surplus of R8 Collets. He sent me 21 used, rusty but not worn out collets. Between 1/8 and 7/8 there are 11 of them including #3 and #7 drill, and couple of 1/16, a couple of 1/8, a couple of 1/32s and all the 1/4 and all but one 1/8. plus a fair number of duplicates.

But what am I going to do with them!

I'm working on a router bit, want to cut four flutes on it. If only I had a 3/4" 5C collet for my Hex/Square blocks. Wait a minnit, I've got R8 collets just lying around. Why don't they make Hex/Square blocks for R8 collets!.

Seems I ought to be able to do something....if I made an adapter for the 5C to R8 end, and an adapter for the tail end, and sucked the collet in with a 7/16-20 socket head cap screw, could I then use the Square block to cut the flutes on my router bit? Sure, why not!!

So here's my results.

Two adaptors.jpg

I don't have a grinder so I had to do the best I could with my Atlas/Clausing MK2 6 20 lathe. The angles are good enough, even though they may not be spot on, they are concentric.

Not a very good picture, but you get the idea. Here it is assembled.

Now I can cut my flutes and give the beading cutter to my buddy. Well, I'll harden and draw it, and do a bit of hand relief on the cutters. But it should be good to go. Bearing and all.

If there's a bunch of interest, I'll work up a print of the parts and discussion on how I proceeded, probably not including the glitches I had to overcome.
