Ok, So I'm in the process of restoring my New to Me 1937 SB 9a 409AN. I'm just about finished and purposely saved the motor for the last part. Here's what I found after a complete cleaning of the old motor. It's a Wagner 1/3 hp., single phase, dual voltage, reverse able motor, but its rated at 50cyles. The old motor was full of swarf, the wires were crumbling, and while I've took motors apart before, this one had me puzzled. The motor had four wires coming out and all were black and falling apart. The troubling part was the two were tied together as were the other two. I know from watching Tublecain's videos that 50 cycles is not what we use, so I want to use this 1/2 hp. motor that I currently have on a scroll saw. I would like to use the original drum switch, even though I don't think the motor is reverse able. And do I really need reverse? The Drum switch is a Furnas R-1 rated for 1/2 hp., 110-220 volts AC on a cast iron factory base. I'll post pics of the switch and the motor I plan to use. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks, Tim.
