Since my mini-lathe may not have the accuracy I want for my indexer spindle. I thought I could rough it in and then final ream. But being on a very limited budget I am hoping someone has a reamer I might borrow. I don't need it just yet but will in the near future (health willing). Depending on what the Oncologist decides when I see him Monday and a warmer week ahead,I should be able to get the spindle ready for reaming if all goes well.

Bill I'm hoping and praying for you both health and income. I'm going to buy a China set soon , let me know when your ready if no one has any. For the $15.00 , they will do.
God bless and keep you , may he grant you a longer and healthier life AMEN. Hard to keep believing when we're down but what else can we do. Thank you Lord for all you did for me.
Bill I see the pain Dr on Tuesday, hope he has better news , body still reacting to the last epidural. Still in pain.

This is my MT2 finishing hand reamer. If this is what you are looking for I can let you borrow this.

Best wishes for the oncologist visit. Not fun.

Thanks guys. Will let someone know for sure after Monday. I plan on getting the taper as close as I can so it will just be a finish ream.

After looking at my finances, I won't be able to do the roughing of the taper til after the 3rd. That's when my monthly check comes in so I can buy a steady rest. Would make one instead but no material to do that either. Guess I should have bought one when I bought the lathe years ago when I had money.
But will keep you guys in mind when I am ready.

If us old crippled up guys were closer we could help each other easier. I'm really hoping and praying for good response from our doctors this week. Vampire was here today , regular Dr be here Monday , see the other pain Dr Tuesday so ill be outside and have some repairs to do . My time of year to pay the taxes and sewer an water bills. I need about a hundred repairs to make enough. Over that is my machine money. Last few years it's been real hard to make it. With this DERN back pain can only stand it about two afternoons a week. But see what the pain Dr says . May end up under the knife if I want it or not.

What's the lathe Bill? Maybe the steady rest from my Clausing 108 would fit?

Hey Bill , I was just thinking if someone on here had one of those hydraulic pipe benders wouldn't a nice circle of mechanical tubing in say one inch x 3/16" wall . If bent as tight as say eight or ten inches. Two pieces matched up add some 1/4" x 2" x2" for the hinge and lockdown pin. The legs the same tubing and maybe a 2" box channel to the lathe bed , the under piece any size to bolt thru. The tube could be welded with nuts for the three positions to save money.
I can see it in my head easier then explain it but I think it could be done for thirty bucks in material. Probably less.
