I would say shoot Keith Fenner an email. He's always happy to help & the reason I recommend him is cause marine shafting is his specialty.
But really it depends on insert manufacturers, they all have their tweaked special grades. Adam seems to favor Iscar & Keith seems to favor Sandvik but not limited to. Not sure if that is actually true or if it's just what they're suppliers recommend them. I'd say choose an insert manufactuer or a few & ask them directly. Some manufacturers will also give out samples for you to try.
