My version of a stand for the PM1340GT lathe.

If I had the money, I'd pay someone to make me a stand like that. Too cool! :aok:

It seems @sanddan hasn't been around for a while. Hopefully he'll be back at some point and accept my thanks for putting together the plans. I'm using a slightly shrunken version for my (non PM, sorry) lathe. Very nice to have something to go off of.

Man that's beautiful. I started drawing up my own for a mill stand that I can fit some toolboxes under vs. the flimsy steel box it comes with. I just don't have a good flat spot to do the welding for something that size... I guess I could use my patio.

The outer frame of my stand should be done tomorrow. A friend from work is doing the final welding, since I'm a newbie. I tacked together the end pieces, and he welded them up and is adding the crossbars. I'll take over then and add the middle upright support, shelves, and top support plates. One slight mod, the lower crossbar has been moved inboard slightly for toe clearance. I'm not sure if it's needed, but why not? It's been a fun project so far...

That is a thing of beauty and something to be proud of. When you begin mass producing, I will be first in line! I have that shimmy too.

@sandan what are the holes in the plate next to the leveling feet?

I am starting on a stand due to your inspiration, HF no longer has that tool chest so i bought the new series 3 even though it doesn't fit the layout as well. I'll just modify it.
Is the top of the tool chest wasted space now? I am trying to design a possible slide out, we will see.
Thanks, Joe
