Hey Rockwell owners,
I have an 11" Delta (Rockwell) lathe which I have used for several years, but never fixed the variable speed indicator inside works which move what's on front of the cabinet. This is a hand wheel rather than a lever changer. I cannot find a pix of the mechanism which connects to whatever inside the cabinet..I know I will have to make whatever it is, but do not know that to make! I will try to post a pix of what is there, but it appears that a worm shaft and its connection to the variable works is missing. Any pics of that connection works would be appreciated.
Thanks

Does this look like what you need? If so I can give you pics and measurements.20171004_153139.jpg

Yea, my whole connection and reeves drive is all there and intact, I just checked. No belt, but I don't think you need that.

Richl,
Man, just what I needed! I hope you didn't throw your back out getting these pics! Seems I'm missing three parts. I thought from what I had that the gear ran off a worm , but it is a rack! I can make all the parts now.
Thanks for your help--couldn't have known without the pics! This lathe is small, but works well in a home shop.

Mine is 11x24, I really need to get it working. Thanks for giving me a reason to look at her a bit more closely.
It does look like a very straight forward setup for you. If you need anything else, feel free to ask

I have fixed my spindle speed indicator--now I am working on a graphic for the threading chart---the chart on my lathe is unreadable. When new, the chart was all black screenprinted on a silver plate--no red at all. I have found a jpeg of the plate on the web, but cannot read the longitudinal numbers under the thread pitches. Does anyone have such a thread chart and could one post a sharp pix of the chart. When I finish the thread chart graphic, I will post it to this thread for others to use!

I'll be back in the shop tomorrow, I'll check to see what I have. I'll try to cleanup mine and take the best high res pic I can. If mine is in decent shape I can grab a full resolution picture with a digital camera, a Canon 5d mk4 30 megs. If needed.

richl,
From your previous pics, your lathe has the red and black thread chart. Mine has the all black chart. I have completed a graphic of my chart based on some longitudinal feeds which had to be calculated as I could not read the existing chart on my lathe. I will post the chart soon.
