Stolen Sheldon EM 56

A guy on the Yahoo Sheldon lathes group had all his tools and lathe stolen, they were in an enclosed trailer someone hooked on to it and left.
This was in the ST Paul Mn, area
He didn't mention the color but it has new paint and hand scraped cross slide.
I have a note to him asking what color , serial #

Well.... I'm on the NW side of the metro.
I'll be watching if I hear of anything.

It's probably in another state , but if we all stick to trying to find it we will with good description and numbers . The net is amazing world wide. Catch the bastard and hook him up the hitch for a long ride. They probably wanted the trailer so they may dump the traceable machines.
 
I would hit the phone books, and call all the scrap yards within a day or two drive.

Also search Craigs list, E-bay, and any other sales type sites for the area, for any parts that could be identified as having been with the equipment.
 
I'll be watching CL, likely he is as well. It's possible that they wanted the trailer and have no idea what they have.
Perhaps they should call Tried and True in Fridley, MN. Good people!
They buy hobby sized stuff for resale, if they believe the seller is actually the owner.

My police friends talk about the fact that most thieves are not particularly brilliant.
e.g. The John Deere tractor that was stolen. They followed the tire tracks and found it in the new "owners" front yard with a For Sale sign.
