here is some of what i have added so far
my tools were to small since they were for sherline and 9x20 lathe older hf mill mostly 2mt . I needed r8 tools i didnt have and larger fixture blocks and keyway broach set, collets, arbours heavy vise I want to machine some steel now :)
dont scold me they are chinese but i got it all for less than 1 kurt vise and im not a business
i also bought a start capacitor tester I hate the place i have to buy my caps because they have a tester and i dont. $29 for a $7 cap the difference paid for the tool. thats a different story for a different thread but it in the pic so i mentioned it.

Nice tools! Now where did you get the cap tester for that price/

I bought a thread mic also now that i have a lathe thats slow enough i'm going to try to get better at threading. the 9x20 was to fast without the dc motor on it.

Nice set of tools! Can you give us an update on how you like the face mill? I've been looking at that style and am interested in how well it cuts. Thanks.

Hi bill
I have not used any of the r8 tooling yet
I just bought the zx45 mill and took it apart to convert it to cnc so i have no idea
the face mill was $72 with shipping on ebay but i know nothing about it yet including insert replacement cost

the mill came with a shell mill arbor and i was looking for something to fit it but the cost was too much for my hobby this was less than a face mill to fit my arbor

I bought a new level today and now i just need to learn to use it
I want to set everything up as close to level as possible this time, in the past i slacked off on leveling
there was a question on another thread about where starrett is made now. this says american made on the inspectors certificate
It is 8" and say each division is .005 fer foot
I got it off ebay for $128.00 including shipping

Steve

Where did you get the 5C collet chuck, I got mine from Tools4Cheap and It has 0 run out on the taper inside.

I haven't used it but once checking out the threading on my Leblond lathe, I'm very happy with it so far.

I purchased mine on ebay
I had a problem with making the backing plate on my 9x20 lathe i have found what i think is a bad bearing the spindle will jump .001 in a non rhythmic pattern as it turns so i have never had it as precision as i'd like. I have purchased a new backing plate for my new 11x26 lathe and plan on mounting it on there. the 9x20 needs a rebuild and i'm going to convert to cnc at that time i will address its backing plate again. I also found that the pin to align the collet in the chuck fit too tight in the slots of the collet and may have been causing a problem i made it narrower and that has helped. untill i purchase a complete set of collets it has been on the back burner mine are in 1/8 i'm going to buy the complete metric set soon.
