This is the frame for my rat rod truck I'm building, a 47 Ford Bobber with just a cab. Gonna be slammed & dragging a$$. 30" Z in the rear to accommodate the high arched transverse spring in the rear & 4" Z in the front but may go higher yet. Check out those welds.

Nice work Charley!

Hope you're not going to paint the cab, I love that patina.

Charlie,
Looks like a stack of dimes to me!!! Lookin good for a start, any plans for a bed or maybe a wrecker body done old skool? I love resto and mods projects, what are you planning for power, any candidates yet? Keep up the pics, i'm following since I can't do one of my own for a while yet...

Nice job on the chop top, Frame is looking good to.

Very nice.

Some older inline 6 cylinder would continue the theme very nicely. Then again a older 331 cu in hemi would really stand out.

I may change the artwork on the doors at some point but otherwise no paint

I must admit the welds are not mine, a co-worker did the welding him & I are gonna be building frames

Looking for an oddball small motor to put in it, 4 cylinder, maybe diesel, I'll know when I find it. up for suggestions for an off the wall motor

What about a small turbine driving an alternator and using electric power for the drive? Those small turbines are very cheap ans since it is a truck, the bed could be a double layer for battery storage too. Imagine hearing the whoosh of a jet as your being passed by an antique vehicle. Bad ass and green too. Just a thought if youre not really concerned for perfect retsoration.

thats a great project for sure. be watching this one. how about a Buick 231 V6? good little motors and they can be built up if ever desired.

Looking good Charley

I did that type of work for yrs, and found it was very enjoyable to do. So , do tell, whats going into it for front and rear suspenstion? I guess the drive train will be what ever comes up at the right price.

Nic job on the chop top as well. Looks like your welder friend has more than a few hrs under his belt too. Keep the progress pics coming.
