When I first started in industrial fluids we provided coolant to shops. I remember seeing NC control running off punch tapes.

I have loaded punch tapes, that dates me.
I think you have good company here... My first college program, in Fortran, was on punch cards. Prof did it so we knew the pain. After we passed the first assignment we got to use the terminals.
I also did punch cards and Fortran, and Cobol
Time to schedule a colonoscopy...
Already had my 10 year a few years ago.
Yup, 2 down, but my doc has me doing the poop in the box, I am very low cancer risk.
They found 0.0000 up there, my colon is LEGEND!

Amorrow posted in #19 some really good links.. The machine has ground ways and tikko bearings on all corners. no metal on metal.
Dad got it out of the junkyard in the mid 80's - built a building, poured concrete and got it running with the original transistor control about 1990
(the linuxcnc convertion happened in the 2010's)
