In researching the 6F Bridgeport Power Feed I am in the process of repairing (post on shop electrical board), I have found that oil leakage from the gearbox is a common longer term problem with these units. Mine, fortunately, didn't have that issue. However, to prevent that in the future, I was thinking of using a military grade moly paste. I could apply an ample amount to all bearing and gear surfaces. It certainly wouldn't seep through older seals, and would have great lubricity and appropriate higher pressure sheer properties.

Anyone have thoughts on that?

Guys, this is the stuff I used:

I gave both the pinion and ring gear a thorough coat of this while in motion. I also used it liberally on all the clutch and clutch dog moving parts. Will see how this fairs over time.
