I have a Monarch 14C lathe and was watching a U-Tube video of another
Monarch lathe. The video showed the machine engaged with the lever DOWN.
Mine engages with the lever UP. What is the "normal" configuration and is
there an advantage of one way over the other?

I have another lathe that engages with the lever down. It would be nice if they
both operated the same for obvious reasons.

Any thoughts and comments welcome. Thank you..

I guess there is not a standard so to speak. I had a Jet lathe that you raised the handle up to start the lathe, and the lathe I have now, and Acer is just the opposite. Easy to reverse, by switching the leads at the end of the control rod on the lathe, on the right hand end.

Hope that helps,
Sandia
