MY NEW PRECISION MATTHEWS MILL USES A 22mm WRENCH ON THE DRAWBAR .

IT TAKES A FEW LOVE TAPS TO BREAK THE COLLETs LOOSE FROM THE SPINDLE
BUT TOOL I HAVE IN MY HAND WHEN TRYING TO DO SO IS A WRENCH .

SO I BOUGHT A USED BOX WRENCH ON E-BAY .
IT WAS CHEAP BECAUSE SOMEONE HAD DONE SOME GRINDING ON THE OPEN END .

I CUT OFF THE OPEN END AND REPLACED IT WITH A PRESS ON BRASS HAMMER HEAD .

THE BRASS HAS ENOUGH WEIGHT TO GET THE JOB DONE BUT IS SOFT ENOUGH
THAT IT WON'T MAR OR MUSHROOM THE DRAWBAR HEAD OVER TIME .

I thought this was going to be a picture of a crescent hammer aka adjustable hammer aka adjustable wrench. But it's actually a hammer wrench. Brilliant! I think you could make money selling these as sets. None of my combination hammers, box end hammers, adjustable hammers, or socket hammers have the mass of this thing. I might buy a set if they were sold in stores.
