Question on Cold Rust Bluing?

I'm still listening folks.

I've got me a vicks steamer and using it for the humidity part. My box is built out of lodge pole pine. When I go out in the morning the humidity in the box is usually about 26 percent. When I turn on the vaporizer and start steaming it goes down, so i guess the wood is soaking up the moisture. What do you guys think. I may have to line it with something non pourous.
 
In the past i just had water in a plastic container and a lid to much moisture causes condensation on cold barrel which can cause undesirable pitting
