Hi,
I finally put my VN22LU back together enough to mount the feed motor and run it. I filled the oil pan in the column
(perhaps slightly over-filled, it should be up to the slinger, but not with the sprocket/chain immersed). Then I ran the
feed motor at 50% speed for 10-20min.
Later on I noticed a fairly large pool of oil under the machine.
So this is one of two things, either
1) I overfilled the machine and maybe it is normal for excess oil to leak out somehow?
2) when I removed the whole oil pan assembly out the bottom of the machine previously, maybe I didn't get a good seal with
gasket sealer and so oil returning to the pan might leak out somewhere.
So for those of you who have run these machines for years, have you overfilled the pan before, and if so, what happened? Leak,
or not?
