Install the 3 compression springs into their pockets in the gear housing. (clean and lightly lubricate.)
Lubricate the bull gear bearing sleeve using super lube or something close.
Place the washer over the springs like shown.
3 springs install...with my installer hand out of the way. lol

Compression springs that help the control of the bull gear movement (up and down) when shifting between High and Low speeds.
Side profile I cut on the lock nut socket "teeth" using a dremel with a cutoff wheel. Straight on view if you look to the back tooth.
You'll have to hold the bull gear in a way that allows you to tighten the lock nut. I clamped down with a c-clamp and a chunk of wood to the bench.
