Install the retaining clip.
Showing the hole in the shaft aligined the way you need it for the reverse trip ball lever.
As you push the quill stop screw up make sure the hole in the end of the shaft and the hole on the right are aligned!

Lubricate with sae 10 and slide into place. The pin on the left of the trip lever is the trip adjustment screw.
