I have an Enco 105-110 RF-30 Mill/Drill purchased 1989. I believe the lower spindle bearing is failing. Does anyone have experience replacing these bearings? Does the hole spindle have to come out? If so how. The parts diagram does not help much in figuring out how this comes apart.

Look in the Rong Fu forum, several members have changed out those bearings with detailed step-by-step. I have King PDM30, which I think is the same as yourRF-30, and went for angular sealed ball bearings. Installed them in 2012 and have not touched them since. If your mill has the same quill setup as mine I used FAG 7206-B-2RS-TVP and FAG 7207-B-2RS-TVP bearings. A little narrower than the original open taper roller bearings but within the adjustment range of the take-up nuts. No worry about dust, chips, or the grease being thrown out. If that works for your mill I would recommend it

I thought I would be able to finish what I was doing before replacing these bearings but not so. There is what appears to be a cap on the quill. It looks like it might be threaded in.? Does anyone know how this comes out?
It looks like there might be three screws that were staked in, there are what appear to be punch marks on the permitter of the holes.

That should be just the dust cover which looks like it uses a 3 pin wrench. Just guessing here but looks like a punch was used to loosen it and tighten it. Try to determine whether it is a LH or RH thread before you apply too much pressure, mine is definitely RH. Just took the cover off and is a pleasure to see the sealed bearing looking like new. These pictures show the condition of the bearings on my mill when I dismantled it originally. They were in bad shape even though the mill was not!

So your cover was screws in via RH thread. Were there holes like mine?
I have most of the spindle taken apart but can't get this cover to move. I don't want to force it. Also, the wrenches I found seem to have only two pins.

I was able to get the cover off by using the chuck from my 9in lathe, probably put it back on the same way. The lower bearing was packed with grease and seems to be in good shape. The upper bearing only had oil on it and id discolored. Tomorrow I will pull the outer races and order parts.

The cover on mine is flat, black plastic and just screws in by hand, and definitely is a RH thread. The original had two holes for a pin wrench but I made a new one in 2012. Now that I think of it I believe the pin holes in the original were also damaged and that was the reason for making a new one. Hope this helps.

I think the holes are too shallow for a spanner to get a grip, so they used a center punch to tighten it down.

I am going to give up for the day, very frustrated. I am unable to pull the outer races from the quill. I bought a puller that is intended to pull piolet bearings from clutches did not work. There is little to nothing to get a grip on the race. The undercut provided is not deep enough to prodvide an area large enough to pull on.
Canuck75 do you remember how you got them out and how you installed the new one's?
