John Deere 2010

Sounds like you got a pretty good handle on it but do you ever get that feeling that there just might be a little more?

Not enough to hurt anything, just enough to bug you from time to time.

oh yeah, this JD kinda bugs me like that. It obviously wasnt properly cared for and when I first got it home I drained gallons of water out of the transmission. The people who had it were trying to get it started. So basically they were circulating a 1:3 mix of hydraulic oil and water all through the hydraulic system.

Well I guess 1:3 (water/Hyd) is better then 3:1.

Do you think just putting clean hyd back in will take care or stopping any rust or further damage or is there a hyd system cleaner for that. I neve had to go this far so I don't know.

The hydraulic system is always going to end up getting moisture in it through condensation. I flushed it out pretty good.

Glad to see it running. Is it rough because its cold or still needs a little TLC?

Keep up the good work.

Most diesels are hard starting, sure are nice when they warm up. Fuel additive is good for cold weather. Nice machine.

My IH 484 doesnt have glow plugs. That doesnt like the cold. The JD 2010 has glow plugs and a little hand pump on the dash that will spray a mist of diesel fuel into the intake manifold.

My Case doesn't have glow plugs either, it does have a good battery and a strong starter that overcomes most cold starts. I try to avoid starting fluid, but sometimes I have no choice. It has to be pretty cold for that.
