Hi
So I bought this 30 year old hydraulic 3ph forklift had a hard time hooking this up since I have only one set of hydraulics on the back of my Kioti CK35
the weird thing was that there were 3 houses with quick connect which threw me off anyway after much searching and talking to some folks in the Tractor by net forums (neat forums BTW) I figured that the third hose returns the oil from the ram cylinder that does lifting and there is really low pressure in that hose, couldn't find a sump dump connection on the tractor so I made a new filler cap

In to that I screwed in the quick connect (female)

I had to get rid of 90 degree coupler it was in the way when screwing a cap on the filler pipe
and this is what it looks like now when done

Tried it today it worked fine lets hope it will last another 30 years
Cheers

Looks good. If that filler neck is plastic you may want to add a bracket to your new fitting to support the weight of the return hose so it doesn't crack the plastic.

No the pipe is nice and solid metal with the internal thread so no worries there, this is a second time I have made a thread on the lathe this one was short and on the big stock so it was a bit tricky,

Looks good, I guess John Deere makes a similar thing for big hydraulic implements. The pressure side some how takes fluid from the 3pt hitch and the return is like what you made.

In my case it was just the return of oil from the lift cylinder doing it that way it gives you a better control of the descent not the jerky and fast down slide, the pressure on that side is only created of the weigh of the lifting carriage and item on it, some tractors have a "sump dump" plug where one could hook up or some just welled and small pipe to the filler pipe and hook there

The filler hole on my IH has a big pipe plug. Maybe the did that for a reason.
