I was starting to accumulate a bit more than a few scraps of wood from my recent woodworking fun,
so i figured i'd build a functional art piece, a firewood crate for the scraps that i'll end up using for kindling to start the winter fires.
the crate was made from reclaimed pallet wood, that i and my pallet discombobulator rendered from a 48" X 30" fir pallet, easily.
after removing the nails from the reclaimed wood, i started the layout and assembly.
the finished dimensions are 13" high X 22" long X 12" wide
it took about 3 hrs to put the crate together.
i used 18 ga X 1 1/4" crown staples for assembly
i left it natural wood, no finishing

i used a piece of broken pallet slat oak to add some character to the top of the crate,
giving the impression of an old used crate.

i even used some broken pieces trimmed to size to add an additional rustic feel.

i had a lot of fun knocking the box together.

Thanks for reading,
sorry, i've been lagging on the video portion of the pallet discombobulator
i'll make a video soon for the masses!

Pesky scraps! Taking up too much space in my small shop. But I seem to use something from that over flow of scraps almost daily. Pallet wood is quite useful.
