Pass Around 2016

Hey guys, the hard drive in my PC decided to commit suicide and my phone's abilities are limited. As a result I will not be able to update the spreadsheet at all until the new computer arrives and I set it up next weekend. Autonoz may or may not have the time to address it in the meantime so please have a little patience.

Thanks!

Who me worry? NO

Terry, If the hard drive went bad, just get a new one and reload, a day at the most, Most of that is downloading the updates to windows.
I do enough reloads at work I know. Good luck. Did you have any of your data backed up on a drive or dvds etc.

'top craft is next on the list but I've had no response from a pm I sent him last week. The log book shows he's had the box before so I'm hoping someone out there might have his mailing address.

Just looked in the "Members area" 'Topcraft was last seen: Aug 23, 2016
Hope all is well.

Bill

Give him a few more days. If there is no response by this weekend we'll get a moderator to send him an email. If he doesn't respond to that within a few days we will skip to whomever is next on the list and move 'Topcraft to the bottom of the list.

The old PC is five years old, and it appears that it may be a motherboard or disc controller failure rather than a hard drive crash. That would be a good deal as then recovering files from the old hard drive will be easy. My backup solution has not worked correctly for the last month or two, though I did not know it. So most of my files are there, but not all with the most recent changes. I normally check on my backup from time to time, but it is amazing how time flies and how easy it is to forget to check up on it. As for reloading the hard drive, that is easier said than done when they don't sent installation disks with new PC's anymore.

I forgot that we only get moderators involved when a person in possession of the box doesn't follow through. We do not force participation through emails from moderators. It has been over a week since an attempt to contact him through a PM or 'Conversation' was made and he has not responded, thus it is time to move on to the next person. 'Topcraft will be skipped for now, but will be added to the list again when he comes back and requests such. This way he does not get excluded, but he is given time to get through whatever life has thrown at him and has him missing in action at present. Hopefully we will see him again in the near future.

A rule stipulating how this situation gets handled has been added to the first post in this thread. It follows in line with how we have handled this issue in the past.

So, now that we have the boring administrative drivel out of the way, it looks like it is time for rmack898 to contact the next person on the list, Fitter Bill.

Terry,

I'm not interested in getting in the loop on receiving a box of goodies. Bt what I'm interested in is where to send stuff to so it gets added to a box. In fact, I could fill a medium flat rate box with stuff and send. Just need to know where to send.

Ken

Hmmmm - that's a good question, Ken. Never thought about someone wanting to add to the project without also participating in the receiving side. Frankly, I don't have an answer for you, but maybe somebody else would have an idea. We don't want to get a second box started, as that was a nightmare to keep track of. Let's see if someone can come up with a novel idea.
