Not the first owner of this shaper but have just got it running. Cut a flat on scrap aluminum-- amazing finish. I need to make some parallels for my mill/drill from 3/8" aluminum stock but need to know how to adjust the stroke. Are there any operators/parts manuals available?

Did a quick peak and we don't seem to have one here in Downloads, but there is one at the Vintage Machinery site. Not terribly extensive, but it does go over basic operation and adjustments. Also some nice drawings at the end and parts lists. Might be more, I just looked at the one. Here's the link:

here you go rock_breaker
and some other reading materials

I especially like the US Army shaper manual although it is for a South Bend Shaper .
other than a few differences, both shapers operate under the same principles

enjoy!

Thanks guys!
I found the adjustment information and will give it a try tomorrow.
I have to learn how to drive this computer better, having some problems when I tried posting pictures. Frustration costs about $75.00 just to get it in the door so will keep trying.

I had to look up Yellow Jacket, CO.,,,,,,you are out there,,, not much better for me in NE Wyoming,,, UPS loves us

Went to Chugwater WY once to examine some railroad rails that were for sale. Read some about Gullette and the coal produced there. Not sure about this but I was told when Wyoming was surveyed, they road a horse until it dropped and that was a mile. Wright must be a good sized town, 1800 people; Yellow Jacket has a post office, a bean (Pinto and Anasazi) shed, a car repair shop and 9 houses within 1/4 mile. It is definitely in a remote machinist area. UPS delivered a package then told me the address didn't exist.
Have a good day
