I work for a major oil company and I am currently on assignment in Georgetown Guyana. Today I had a visit with the only major machine shop in Guyana, Guysons Engineering, for the purpose of meet and greet and discussion about possibility of them expanding to include thread work on oil country tubulars. What a nice bunch of people to open their shop floor to me and my coworkers. The bulk of their work is rebuilding engines for the mining and agriculture sector. The import duty regime in Guyana makes rebuilding equipment far more cost effective than importing new.

I thought you guys might like to see some very interesting machinery.

Cool machines, thanks for that!
My first Boss was born in British Guyana and worked there as a geological surveyor through the 1940's and 50's. Some of his stories of those days were pretty wild -- like TIGER wild and locals running around with machetes. Looks a bit more civilized there now ;)
