HBilly - you're not done with the snow yet! I'll bet you'll be playing with that blower some more. Probably in the heavy wet spring stuff!
I don't miss that part of mountain life a bit!! Do miss most everything else though.

Interesting that 520 rpm wasn't fast enough, the tractor pto is only 540 rpm when your wound up. Glad it worked in the end.
Got a couple of inches of snow here too, winter isn't over yet.

Made some parallels to surface HD Shovelhead cylinder heads. Squared up some aluminum square tubing, milled recesses for rocker box studs, and clamped on the table.
Used my shop made fly cutter to do the facing. Left a really nice finish.

Those look good. Gotta love a nice shovel. Mike

STANDARDS ?
Went to cut an internal 1" fine thread. Look at the wall chart UNF 12TPI, ... Check my 1" fine thread taps as the drawer is open, have a 12 TPI and a 13 TPI, HUM. Check the wall chart again, 13 TPI is NF. OK. Find a beat up 1 inch grade 8 bolt, its not 12 or 13, its 14 TPI. ...

Isn't that fun? There's two fixed pitch series as I recall, an 8 TPI and a 12 TPI. Your 1-12 falls in that series. 1-13 is the official UNF thread, but the 1-14 UNS was apparently more common.
