This is what happens when you're a stupid klutzy moron and drop your best, and only hard drill bit on the floor...

...it just doesn't end...

I've been on a bad destructive streak lately. This drill, my good mititoyo digital mic fell off the bench last week, now it's really stiff, that has to go get repaired, I broke a good tap last week too.
The bad three's, it would be really nice if it ended with this drill...
To add insult to precious injury... The wife and I had plans before the boyo came home from daycare... Got called by the daycare an hour prior to coming home, kid has a 102 fever, gotta go get him... Its like the universe knew.

... It just doesn't end!

I'm making a guess that maybe you could use some better lighting in your shop?

Hahaha. That’s for sure one thing I’m not lacking.

What I need to do is use my extremely limited time to clean up instead of making this indicator stand....

Shawn---all is not ruined totally on the nice broken bit--what I would do is carefully silver solder the bit back together---it will still work ok---you can also turn a larger shank bored out to silver solder the front part of the drill in--it will also work good---just don't throw it away when it can be fixed to drill many more holes---Dave

Maybe it's time to take a step back and breathe easy for a while. Periods of what you're going through might be a sign of fatigue or loss of concentration. -Happens to all of us...

Several years ago, I was having a klutzy spell just like yours and one sad day, it almost cost me 3 fingers.

Just have a moment of honesty with yourself and think if you need to chill-out for a few days.

I've been a klutz all my life, but it seems to be a bit worse due to medication lately. Late nights and early mornings. Wife's work schedule has us up at 5:45, and I only ever get time to work after everyone's in bed. Usually that's been fine when we're you at 630. That 45 mins makes a hell of a difference. Its frustrating when life does everything it can to keep you from the hobbies that are supposed to help you relax and unwind.
I desperately need to clean the garage after several rearranges and changes in the garage, but no extra time to do so, extra time is spent working on projects I've been wanting to finish for months.

Just frustrating... Maybe you're right, maybe a step back for a few weeks until the wife's schedule goes back to normal. Especially since my lathe is running again. The parts needed to be made on it had piled up. I want to run it now that it finally runs so well...

Oh well. You're right, better take a break than something bad happen... Sigh...

To add insult to injury, I need glasses (at the ripe old age of 33...) So, adding to my issues, is the issues added over having a hard time seeing.

Yep, time to chill-out for a while. Sounds like you turned your hobby into an obsession. I get it... good doses of obsession is what drives us and makes things happen but when things start getting weird, it's time fall-back and just cover the basics until your head is screwed back on.
