Hi guys.

Can anyone help me with a depth of cut chart metric and imperial when using the compound set at 29-30 degrees. Maybe I am looking at the wrong places, but can't find the ones I am looking for.

Then I have another question. I recently started cutting threads cutting away from the sholder putting the spindle in reverse with the tool upside down. Getting the tip from Joe Pi of YouTube. My question is,when working away from the chuck do you set the compound at 29/30degrees to the opposite side swinging the compound towards the chuck like I think it should be. Or do you keep the compound to the right away from the chuck wich does not sound right in my nugget. Can someone help with the charts and correct me if I am wrong on the compound matter.

Thanks for reading.

Ignore the compound, with small leads and single start threads use the cross slide only.
Regardless of how many youtube video experts will tell you so using the compound to infeed at an angle is not required.
The only way for you to understand this is to do it so have at it.
