Just trying to get some info about the thread size for the pin on this old 12" Crescent wrench. Took a bit of
work getting it out as the threads aren't too good and the hole had a spot that was causing the pin to bind.

So I'm either going to either clean up this pin as well as the female threads in the wrench or get a new pin.

Using a thread gauge and hole gauge, the pin appears to be threaded 9/32-24

Any help will be appreciated.

Looks like you'll have to make one, it's a special part- perfect lathe project

Contact crescent as lifetime warranty may be in place and they may send new pin or tool

Kind of thinking that myself. The part appears to be hardened, a file nearly skates on the surface, but not sure that the replacement would need to be.

Making a new pin was the reason I was asking about the thread, knowing that some of the manufacturers used some strange ones,
especially in the past.

Thanks,

The reason it was difficult to remove is it was Peened after installation as is the normal way they built them.
