It looks as though I was the last guy to post here, three years ago. Here we go again: my son is building another rifle. Last night we assembled
the lower (except for the trigger, which he hasn't decided on yet). Both upper and lower are Aero Precision blems and are their "enhanced" receivers, which are basically mil spec parts with some improvements: flared magwell, tension screw for the upper, trigger guard is part of
the forging, some of the roll pins are replaced with screws and some small changes to the shape of the forgings.
He's decided on a 14.5 inch barrel with the flash hider pinned and welded, but it and the other bits aren't here yet.

Thank you for reviving a good thread. I don't get here nearly as often as I want. I've added a few to my stable and expanded to the kids and grandkids but post-worthy pics yet.

Barnes Precision Machining...sports a half MOA accuracy. Most my groups of three end up looking like one. I really love this rifle.

Quite a collection you have there! Tell us about 25-45 and the SOCOM. How do they shoot?
Built the 25 to hunt local Blacktail, WA has a caliber minimum of .24 so I wanted something as close to a 223 as possible. Everything is the same as 223, BCG, mags, buffer, spring, just larger bore. Uses necked up 223 brass and 90gr Sierra Game Kings at about 2700 fps, .6 mill drop at 200 yards. Super accurate and zero recoil.
Sharps 16" SS barrel, VG6 comp, Daniel Defense Furnature, Burris 4.5-14 × 42 optics. Weighs in a little over 8lbs loaded with 10 rounds ammo.

458 is just for fun, Tromix Upper 14.5 pinned comp to make 16" legal.
The 458 uses all 223/556 parts except the bolt face opened up to a 308 rim size, and a proprietary Tromix extractor. Same spring and buffer, magazines. Vortex PST 1-6 x 24, Ebay Furnature
Very accurate out over 200 yards, 300 gr Barnes TTSX about 1.6 mill drop at 200, the Remy 405 gr 2.7 mill drop at 200. Both very consistent.
Pretty much duplicates a 45-70 GVT performance with less recoil, mostly due to the ARs ergonomics I suppose.
