I’m trying to find a good tap and die for my legs like an MT3 set up. All of the reviews on the ones I’m finding or not so great I didn’t know if anybody had a recommendation for a good set that would do a good range of sizes? I try to single point thread as much as possible but I want to be able to tap smaller things like 5/8 x 24 & 1/2 x 28. Thanks

LMS has a 1/4" internal cutter that fits in a 1/2" hole.

Im sorry I just noticed my misspelling! Lol I meant tap & die for my lathe but I will look that up too. Thank you !

I’ve owned a set from Neil’s Niche for near 15 years. Very well made. Mine is mt3 his largest.

Can you share a photo of yours?

EDIT - Nevermind, found their website:

Are you looking for a tap and die set , or looking for the tailstock holder ? :dunno: I'm cornfused ! Oh yeah , Welcome to H-M .

"5/8-24 and 1/2-28, HMMM? This smells as someone who is either making attachments for the ends of AR barrels, or threading the ends of same. Either way, WELCOME! Show us what you are doing............

As a side note, those two thread dimensions are pretty stout when cutting steel for the tailstock holders that I suggested, if you are trying to hold it by hand. The kit includes a bar that threads into the knurled tube that you might need.
