We needed a rock drill to put in fence posts so this is what we built for on the skid loader. Works like a charm.

Nice looking piece of equipment, did you build this drill from scratch?
 
Yes we did. You can see in the bottom picture, that was our first test drive. There wasn't even any paint on it then. We just started with parts and pieces and a lot of steel and tools.

I assume the legs are for storage of the implement? What is the function of the red cylinder?
 
The red hydraulic arm allows the operator to plum up the drill left and right. The skid loader will let you move it fore and aft, which gives you straight holes for the fence post.
 
Probably won't happen, but that would get my vote for project of the month. Very nice indeed.
 
And lots of them too. And it just keeps drilling and drilling and drilling.
